Rejected people? (6 December 2023)

(Igniting Insights by Rev. Dr. J. N. Manokaran)

God spoke through Prophet Hosea that the People of God perish because of the lack of knowledge.  Scarier is this: “Because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me.” (Hosea 4:6)

No dignity:  When God rejects a person, he loses his dignity.  The privilege and honor bestowed upon His children would be withdrawn.  They even lose the right to be children of God.

No entry:  No access to God’s presence. Priests had the privilege to enter the Tabernacle, even the interior Holy Place, and the Chief Priest in the Most Holy Place.  Blessed are those whom God chooses to come in His presence. (Psalms 65:4)  When that person rejects God’s commandments, guidance, and protocols, they will be forbidden to enter.  As Adam and Eve were exiled, those who reject His Word would also be.

No Sacrifice:  No authority to offer sacrifices as they cannot even be allowed to enter the Tabernacle.  Only the priests were allowed to sacrifice in the Tabernacle or Temple.  King Saul was rejected and so was King Uzziah. ( I Samuel 13:9; II Chronicles 26:16)  When people of God reject His Word, our sacrifices would be like that of Cain’s unapproved and rejected.

No Worship:  No permission to go inside the Tabernacle or temple, hence cannot worship Him.  Without offerings and sacrifices, how could a person honor God?  People should worship in truth and in spirit.  Without God’s Word, how could people worship in truth?

No Intercession:  Praying, petitioning, and interceding for others is God’s gift for priests.  Now that privilege is withdrawn.  God has called the New Testament saints to pray to the God of Harvest to send harvesters.

No witness:  When the privilege of a priest is withdrawn, the Nation of Israel is no witness of the magnificent and glorious God to the world.  The firstborn among nations will no more be His witnesses but will be scattered.  Without the light and lamp of God’s word, it is not possible to be the light of the world or the salt of the earth.  (Psalms 119:105; Matthew 5:14-16)

Do I meditate on the Word day and night?
