Destination Focus!

Destination Focus!  (26 July 2019)

(A daily devotion from Rev. Dr. J.N. Manokaran)

When people from villages come to city, they are bewildered by the craziness of traffic and busyness of people.  Once I observed a person who wanted to go to his relative’s house, from the central bus station of the city.  I gave him directions.  Again, he went to a shop keeper, showed the address of destination and asked for instructions.  After speaking with four people, he decided to go in the right direction to his destination of his relative’s home.

This person wanted to reach the right destination.  He wanted to make sure, some people who know the route, could help him.  In fact, he collected information from four different people.  He took responsibility of taking the right path on himself but sought guidance.  Gladly, he did not think all the roads that leave from bus station reached his destination.

If a person, takes so much effort to reach his destination on a single visit to a city, how much more effort is required to take the right path to the eternal destination: Heaven – life after death?  Each person should inquire, seek, research, and make all efforts to find the right path.  However, most people do not think about their eternity and inadvertently choose immediate comfort which is ‘path of death’.

Paul writes that God had revealed himself or his works are evident in nature.  “For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.”  (Roman 1:20,21)  Paul also states that there is ‘no excuse’ for those who do not see or perceive or seek or search the evident truth.

In addition, the Church proclaims the truth through various methods including making The Bible available in all languages possible.
